Ssmartphone market comes down to Google’s Android mobile phone OS and Apple’s iOS.
Data from Nielsen shows that Android is firmly in lead with 39 percent in the market share while the iOS trails with 31 percent.
The most popular Android OS unit manufacturer is HTC, which only has get 15 percent in the total smartphone marketĀ from Android phones. Motorola trailed get more than 11 percent and Samsung is about 8 per cent.

In the smartphone industry, though, the size that currently counts is the OS market share as a result of importance of apps.
So far, Apple has the lead arguably for the first-mover advantage. However, if the Android continues to pull away in market share, its sheer size will hint the scale in its favor.

Apps were the big trend throughout smartphones that RIM missed. It’s also a significant reason that RIM was dethroned. For the Yahoo and google and Apple battle, capturing the next big touch screen phone trend is key.
Steve Jobs and his prescient genius have a stellar status generating the next big thing. If Apple succeeds again within this regard, Google will need to play catch up along with perhaps lose its lead to Apple.
